ESTERWOOD, La. (AP) — Sheriff's deputies say a teenager has drowned in Bayou Plaquemine near Esterwood.

Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon tells The Advertiser that 17-year-old Thomas Grantham had gone swimming with friends Saturday and was about 20 feet from shore when he went under and did not resurface.
