Opelousas Woman Dies In Crash
A two vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 10 at Louisiana Highway 182 has taken the life on an Opelousas woman.
Last night around 8:34 p.m., 27-year-old Brandi Chambers of Opelousas was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Implala westbound on Louisiana Highway 10.
State Police say Chambers turned left in front of a 2012 Dodge truck driven by 28-year-old Brandon Fisher of Morrow. The front of Fisher's car hit the right side of Chambers' vehicle.
State Police report that Chambers was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown out of the car. She was pronounced dead at the scene by the St. Landry Parish Coroner's Office.
Fisher was wearing a seat belt according to State Police, and he received minor injuries. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
State Police say it is not known if alcohol was a factor in this crash and routine toxicology samples were obtained and will be submitted to the State Police Crime Lab for analysis.
This crash remains under investigation.
