Preschool Teacher Booked With Juvenile Cruelty
NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A 36-year-old teacher at a New Orleans preschool has been booked with cruelty to a juvenile, after New Orleans police said she admitted to whipping the legs of a 4-year-old girl with plastic tubing.
The Times-Picayune reports Roshand Miller surrendered to authorities Tuesday after the girl's mother reported injuries inflicted Jan. 8 at the ABBA Academy & Preschool.
Owner Denise Holden says Miller, who had taught at the school since 2010, has been fired.
Miller could face a maximum of a $1,000 fine and up to 10 years in prison if convicted of cruelty to a juvenile.
