A couple years ago, I was doing a remote broadcast at a local car dealer on "Black Friday." There was a lot of discussion about retail chains initiating the practice of opening on Thanksgiving night. I think it's deplorable.

USA Today reports one chain is bucking the trend. REI will reportedly close its stores on Black Friday, giving employees a paid day off. Customers will be able to make online purchases on REI's website. They'll also be encouraged to "Opt Outside."

Kudos!
