Resisting Deportation Nets Egyptian National Prison Term

39 year old Egyptian national, Mohamed (Admed Hassan Abdallah) Omran was sentenced to six months in prison yesterday by US District Judge Dee Drell on two counts of failure to leave the country. Omran was also sentenced to one year supervised release. Evidence presented at trial noted that U.S. Immigration agents tried to remove Omran from the country at Alexandria's International Airport on two occasions but the agents were verbally and physically abused by Omran.
