Scott Fire Department Getting New Equipment

Members of the volunteer Scott Fire Department will be using grant money to buy some new equipment.

In today's world, there are always questions about how institutions and organizations will be able to get their hands on Personal Protective Equipment.

Scott Fire Department Chief Chad Sonnier says via press release that his department is one of four in the state of Louisiana that will be receiving the money to be able to purchase equipment that will be helpful to the department.

Sonnier says they applied to get some Level 3-compliant coveralls that are reusable, and they are isolation coveralls so each firefighter will be able to be protected at all times. With these coveralls, each firefighter will be able to protect the public as well.

Each member of the department will be fitted with their own coveralls.
