The list of pharmacies offering the COVID-19 vaccine is continuing to grow.

Starting on Friday, February 12, certain Walmart and Sam's Club pharmacies across the state of Louisiana will be offering the vaccine. The locations are generally in the state's larger cities.

If you are interested in getting vaccinated, you can find available locations either at the Walmart or Louisiana Department of Health websites. From those websites, you can schedule a vaccine appointment at the selected Walmart and Sam's locations.

For the Acadiana area, the following locations of Walmart and Sam's Club will be participating:

  • Walmart #415 - 123 Saint Nazaire Rd - Broussard
  • Walmart #2938 - 2428 W Pinhook Rd - Lafayette
  • Sam's Club #8114 - 3222 Ambassador Caffery Pkwy - Lafayette
  • Walmart #5125 - 2310 S Union Street - Opelousas

Appointments will be available every day of the week. Another plus is that you do not have to be a Sam's Club member to sign-up for an appointment.

This is all made possible through the U.S. Federal Retail Pharmacy Program.

“Ninety percent of the country lives within ten miles of a Walmart. We’re committed to helping people live better – and healthier lives – in Louisiana, and we take that role very seriously,” said Dr. Cheryl Pegus, Executive Vice President, Health & Wellness. “We want to help the country re-open, but we can only achieve that through widespread COVID-19 vaccination. We’re proud to work together with the federal government, states, communities, customers and associates to expand access to the vaccine and reach that goal.”
