Seth Fontenot Indicted By Grand Jury On Murder, Attempted Murder Charges
LAFAYETTE, La. (KPEL) -- A grand jury has indicted the 18-year-old man accused in the shooting death of a 15-year-old Lafayette teenager and in the injuring of two other teens.
Seth Fontenot was indicted on one count of first degree murder and two counts of attempted first degree murder, according to our news partners at KATC.
On Feb. 10, 15-year-old Austin Rivault and two of his friends were riding in a truck on Green Meadow Road in Lafayette when Fontenot allegedly opened fire on them.
Lafayette Police say the teens drove themselves to a nearby hospital. Rivault died from his injuries.
According to his arrest affidavit, Fontenot was trying to scare the kids. He's being held in the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center without bond.
