A local high school football standout was in attendance on Saturday's Louisiana Ragin' Cajun homecoming win.


On night earlier, Benjamin helped 8th-ranked St. Martinville roll to their 7th-consecutive victory to begin the season, defeating the Cecilia Bulldogs, 50-18, in a District 5-4A match-up of St. Martin Parish rivals.

A senior running back, Benjamin rushed for 170 yards, including four touchdowns, on 25 carries.

For the season, Benjamin now has compiled 1,243 yards and 20 touchdowns on 141 carries.
This is coming off an outstanding 2017 campaign, in which Benjamin rushed for 1,628 yards and 19 scores.
The 5-foot-10, 185-pound Benjamin, who was tabbed the MVP of the district last season, is also an honors student.
As of now, Benjamin has not committed to any college.
