St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Arrest Report
26 people appear on the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office arrest report. Deputies say they investigated 198 complaints over the holiday reporting period.
Darren Darby, 20, Franklin, LA was additionally charged on December 29, 2016 at 11:42 am for the following offenses in 3 separate incidents:
2 counts of battery of a correctional facility employee
2 counts of battery of a correctional facility employee and simple battery
3 counts of battery of a correctional facility employee
On December 27, 2016, Darby, an inmate at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center, threw water onto a correctional officer twice. The same day, Darby threw a beverage on another correctional officer and an inmate. On December 28, 2016, while being escorted to a dorm, Darby struck 3 correctional officers in the face. None of the correctional officers were seriously injured. Darby remains incarcerated.
John Felton, 53, Baldwin, LA was additionally charged with battery of a correctional facility employee. On December 27, 2016, Felton, an inmate at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center, grabbed a correctional officer. Felton remains incarcerated.
Alejandro Valero Gutierrez, 30, 272 Cremo Lane, Patterson, LA was arrested on December 29, 2016 at 12:40 pm on 2 Morgan City warrants for probation violation and failure to appear on the charge of possession of marijuana. While responding to an unrelated complaint on Cremo Lane, a deputy made contact with Gutierrez and located the active warrants for his arrest. The deputy transported Gutierrez to the parish jail. He was later transferred to the Morgan City Police Department jail.
Addie M. Guidry, 37, Two Sisters Court, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on December 29, 2016 at 3:08 pm for criminal trespass. A deputy responded to a complaint of trespassing and shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. The deputy learned from store personnel that Guidry went into the business after being told on several occasions that she was not to return to the store. The deputy also found evidence that Guidry was in the store with another subject who was seen shoplifting. The deputy located Guidry on Belleview Street. Guidry was released on a summons to appear in court on March 8, 2017. The case remains under investigation.
Lance C. Dauphine, 44, 640 B Trappey Street, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on December 29, 2016 at 2:47 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of resisting an officer and remaining where forbidden. A correctional officer transported Dauphine from the LaSalle Parish detention center to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the warrant. Dauphine was released on a recognizance bond.
Shawn Boudreaux, 37, 179 Martin Road, Centerville, LA was arrested on December 30, 2016 at 12:05 am for disturbing the peace and criminal trespass. A deputy responded to reports of a suspicious person on Field Road in Bayou Vista. The deputy detained a male subject, identified as Boudreaux, in the area. The deputy positively identified Boudreaux as the subject seen running through several yards in the area knocking on residents' doors. Boudreaux was transported to the parish jail for booking. Boudreaux was released on a $1,250 bond.
Juvenile male, 16, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on December 30, 2016 at 12:05 am for failure to signal a turn 100 feet prior to an intersection and possession of schedule I (marijuana). A deputy observed a vehicle fail to signal a turn onto Canal Road in Bayou Vista and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy spoke with the driver, a juvenile, and smelled the strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. During the investigation, the deputy located a small amount of marijuana in the car. The juvenile was release to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
Brady L. Rogers, 28, 531 Guiberteau Street, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on December 30, 2016 at 12:33 am on a warrant from the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office for 1st degree murder. A deputy located Rogers at the Charenton Boat landing in reference to an Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office investigation. A deputy transported Rogers to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office in Franklin where he was subsequently arrested on the warrant. He was transported to the parish jail for booking and then transferred to Iberia Parish.
Bruce G. Conley, 31, 1122 LA Highway 83, Franklin, LA was arrested on December 31, 2016 at 1:13 am on a warrant for attempted aggravated rape, attempted aggravated burglary, and cruelty to the infirm. On December 30, 2016, deputies responded to a report of rape at a residence in the Franklin area. During the investigation, the detective assigned to the case found evidence that Conley entered the residence without permission and attempted to force an elderly female victim to engage in a sexual act. The detective also learned that Conley knew the victim. The detective obtained a warrant for Conley's arrest. Conley turned himself in at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office in Franklin. A deputy transported him to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
Monique Milton, 35, 7233 Meadow Brook Drive, Baton Rouge, LA was arrested on December 30, 2016 at 5:15 pm for disturbing the peace. Deputies encountered Milton while assisting Baldwin Police with an incident at a residence on Highway 83. While speaking with deputies, Milton became angry and began yelling and cursing. Deputies repeatedly asked Milton to leave the scene of the ongoing investigation. Milton refused and continued to yell profanities. Milton was released on a summons to appear in court on March 8, 2017.
Brandon Fontenot, 19, 1620 Parlange Drive, Morgan City, LA was arrested on December 30, 2016 at 9:16 pm for failure to signal 100 feet prior to an intersection and possession of Schedule I (marijuana). A deputy observed a vehicle fail to signal a turn onto Middle Road and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy spoke with the driver, Fontenot, and smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The deputy received consent to search the car and located a bag of marijuana. Fontenot was released on a summons to appear in court on March 8, 2017.
Ashley Dowdy, 30, 1913 Arthur Avenue, Panama City, FL was arrested on December 30, 2016 at 11:21 pm on 2 warrants each for failure to appear on the charges of possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. During booking at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center, a correctional officer located the active warrants. No bail is set.
Shamberly Caesar, 28, 450 Branch Street, Baldwin, LA was arrested on December 31, 2016 at 12:01 am on a warrant from Franklin City Court for failure to appear on the charge of remaining where forbidden. A crowd gathered on Branch Street in Baldwin during a narcotics investigation. A female subject attempted to walk around deputies onto the investigation scene several times. After being told by a deputy a fourth time to back away from the investigation scene, the subject was detained. The deputy identified her as Caesar and located the active warrant for her arrest. Caesar was transported to the parish jail for booking. Caesar was released on a $418 bond. (See the Narcotics Section release for additional information on the narcotics investigation.)
Albert Knight, Jr., 39, 237 Dixie Road, Franklin, LA was arrested on December 31, 2016 at 12:23 am for driving under suspension. A deputy observed a vehicle fail to properly signal a turn onto Branch Street in Baldwin and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy spoke with the driver, identified as Knight, and a passenger in the SUV. Knight was unable to produce a driver's license and the deputy found that Knight's license was listed as suspended. Knight was released on a summons to appear in court on March 8, 2017. (See the Narcotics Section release for additional information on this investigation.)
Michael Federer, Jr., 26, 801 General Mouton Road, Lafayette, LA was arrested on December 31, 2016 at 10:30 am for speeding, driving under suspension, and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of driving under suspension and speeding. A deputy patrolling Bayou Vista observed a vehicle speeding 58 miles per hour in a posted 45 miles per hour zone. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the driver who was identified as Federer. The deputy found that Federer was operating the car with a suspended driver's license and that he had an active warrant for his arrest. Federer was transported to the parish jail for booking. He was released on a $750 bond.
Deborah Lacoste, 58, 116 Railroad Avenue, Morgan City, LA was arrested on December 31, 2016 at 12:04 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of manufacturing marijuana and violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone). A deputy located Lacoste at a medical facility in Morgan City. Lacoste was transported to the parish jail for booking. No bail is set.
Rosendo Sanchez-Perez, 46, 2602 Lake Palourde Road, Amelia, LA was arrested on December 31, 2016 at 6:02 pm for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, careless operation of a motor vehicle, and no driver's license. Deputies investigating a 3 vehicle crash on Lake Palourde Road identified Sanchez-Perez as the driver of a vehicle that rear-ended another vehicle which in turn struck the vehicle in front of it. While speaking with Sanchez-Perez, deputies smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and person. Deputies conducted a field sobriety test. Sanchez-Perez performed poorly. He later registered a 0.225g% blood alcohol concentration on a breath test. Deputies also found that Sanchez-Perez was operating the vehicle without a driver's license. Sanchez-Perez was transported to the parish jail for booking. Sanchez-Perez was released after posting a $3,250 bond.
Stacy Case, 70, 8316 Highway 182 West, Franklin, LA was arrested on December 31, 2016 at 11:20 pm for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, possession of (open) alcoholic containers in motor vehicles, and improper lane usage. A deputy patrolling the Franklin area observed a vehicle swerving from lane to lane on Highway 87 and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy observed the driver drop a bottle of beer into the back seat of the car. The driver was identified as Case. While speaking with him, the deputy smelled the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on Case. The deputy also observed Case swaying from side to side along with other indicators of impairment. Following an investigation, the deputy transported Case to the parish jail for booking. Case was released after posting a $5,750 bond.
Brandy G. Legendre, 32, 515 Joey Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on January 1, 2017 at 4:56 am for simple battery. During an investigation into an incident at a residence in Patterson, a deputy contacted Acadian Ambulance for Legendre who stated that she wished to go to the hospital. While inside the ambulance, Legendre struck a medic. After receiving medical attention at an area hospital, Legendre was transported to the parish jail for booking. Legendre was released on a $2,500 bond.
Danny Lanceslin, Sr., 51, 504 Frederick Lane, Baldwin, LA was arrested on January 1, 2017 at 6:38 pm on the following warrants:
2006 warrant for hit and run driving and driving under suspension
2006 warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal trespass
Warrant for failure to appear on the charges of direct contempt, speeding, failure to give required signals, operating a vehicle without a driver's license, and failure to honor written promise to appear
A deputy patrolling Baldwin observed a subject riding a bicycle on Rosebud Street at night without any lights. The deputy stopped to speak with the man and identified him as Lanceslin. The deputy discovered that Lanceslin was wanted on multiple warrants and transported him to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $7,345.
John Gibson, 52, 1320 Avenue L, Nederland, TX was arrested on January 1, 2017 at 10:21 pm for driving under suspension and maximum speed limit violation. A deputy observed a vehicle traveling 70 miles per hour in a posted 45 miles per hour zone on Highway 182 in Morgan City. The deputy conducted a traffic stop. While speaking with the driver, Gibson, the deputy found that he was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver's license. Gibson was released on a summons to appear in court on April 5, 2017.
Brittney N. Fisher, 26, 910 Ohmer Street, Amelia, LA was arrested on January 2, 2017 at 11:53 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges possession of alprazolam and disturbing the peace (intoxicated). A deputy patrolling Amelia was approached by a subject. While speaking with her, the deputy identified her as Fisher and located the active warrant for her arrest. Fisher was transported to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $10,000.
Jauntiel James, 29, 517 Robertson Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on January 2, 2017 at 5:51 pm for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of theft at a store in Bayou Vista. The deputy collected evidence that James, an employee of the store, failed to scan some items for several customers one of which was a family member. The items totaled just over $240. James was released on a summons to appear in court on April 5, 2017.
Authur J. Lewis, 48, 1069 LA Highway 318, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on January 2, 2017 at 6:44 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of disturbing the peace (intoxicated). A deputy responded to a residence on Charles Lane in Four Corners to remove a subject. The deputy made contact with Lewis and located the active warrant for his arrest. The deputy transported Lewis to the parish jail for booking. Bail is set at $400.
Rick H. Eschliman , 57, 1506 ½ Elzy Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on December 29, 2016 at 5:46 pm for possession of Schedule IV (clonazepam) and possession of drug paraphernalia. A narcotics detective conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Highway 90 in the Patterson area. During the stop, the detective made contact with a passenger identified as Eschliman. While speaking with him, the detective found that Eschliman had 4 clonazepam pills in a prescription bottle but was unable to provide a prescription for the pills. The detective also located syringes and an aluminum can suspected of being used to mix drugs for injecting. Eschliman was transported to the parish jail for booking. Eschliman was released on a $3,500 bond.
Rondon Caesar , 40, 448 North Branch Street, Baldwin, LA was arrested on December 31, 2016 at 12:57 am for the following offenses:
- 2 counts resisting an officer
- Possession of Schedule I (heroin) with intent to distribute
- Possession of Schedule I (marijuana) with intent to distribute
- Possession of Schedule II (cocaine) with intent to distribute
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Transactions involving drug proceeds
- Entering contraband into a penal institution
During a traffic stop on Branch Street in Baldwin, a deputy made contact with a passenger who was identified as Caesar. While speaking with him, the deputy smelled the strong odor of marijuana on his person and detained him. While in custody, Caesar attempted to remove a bag from inside his pants and began to violently pull away from deputies. Deputies recovered the bag and located marijuana inside. Detectives also recovered a second bag containing smaller baggies of heroin and cocaine along with approximately 50 empty baggies. Deputies contacted Narcotics Section detectives to continue the investigation. Detectives located over $2,000 in cash and found evidence that the money was obtained through the sale of illegal drugs. A deputy transported Caesar to the parish jail for booking. After removing Caesar from the police unit, the deputy located another small bag of heroin beneath the seat of the vehicle. No bail is set.
