State Fire Marshal Butch Browning joined 'Mornings With Ken & Bernie' today to warn of the dangers of Fourth of July fireworks.  Browning advised everyone to take the family to see public fireworks displays to have a safe holiday.

According to Browning,

"Fireworks are a safe product if it's used safely.  Again the key message is safety.  If you're going to purchase these consumer fireworks from retail stands you have to leave there with the responsibility and knowledge to know that you have to use them in a safe area."

Browning said we have been fortunate in Louisiana this year to have had adequate rainfall to prevent wildfires but a few dry days could change that.  He stressed that we should continue to be vigilant to prevent wildfires like those in the Western states.
