LA. State Fire Marshal Encourages Fireworks Safety
New Year's Eve is just around the corner, and with that come the fireworks. While State Fire Marshal Butch Browning would rather we all go see a public fireworks display where professionals run the show, he offers some common sense tips for those of us who'll be getting our own.
Keep a garden hose or a bucket of water nearby in case fireworks misfire.
Never light fireworks in your hands. Browning says they should be lit on a hard, smooth surface.
And of course, never point or throw fireworks at anyone.
