Investigators are trying to piece together what led to the downing of a helicopter south of Morgan City this morning. Officials with the FAA say the helicopter crashed just after 7:30 this morning, killing two people.
A crash this afternoon in Lafayette proves fatal. Corporal Paul Mouton with Lafayette Police tells KPEL an SUV was traveling west on West Congrees while a green car was driving north on St. Mary when they crashed in the intersection.
A Franklin man decided he would avoid having to talk to police during a traffic stop by parking his car in the middle of the road, and running away. It didn't work out for him though, as he later decided to return to where he had parked his car. He was arrested.
