NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Much of the state is under a tornado watch, but not in New Orleans where Mardi Gras revelers continue to party under cloudy skies.

The National Weather Service says the north shore of Lake Pontchartain, including St. Tammany, Tangipahoa and Washington parishes, is under the watch until 8 p.m. CST.

The following parishes also are under a tornado watch until then: Caldwell, Grant, LaSalle, Winn, Natchitoches, Sabine, Avoyelles, Evangeline, Rapides, St. Landry, Iberia, Lafayette, St. Martin, St. Mary, Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, Jefferson Davis, Vermilion and Vernon.

Acadia Parish, and the City of Rayne, also is included in the latest watch. Rayne was hit by a tornado on Saturday, leaving one dead and several injured.
