There are only three games in the league this week and only one on Saturday.  All three are conference games, including the Game of the Year in the Sun Belt.

APPALACHIAN STATE (4-0, 1-0) (PK) at LOUISIANA (4-1, 1-0)  TONIGHT 7:00 ESPN2--The Cajuns have never beaten the Mountaineers, but they do get them at Cajun Field after three straight meetings in Boone.  (App State won 24-0 the last meeting in Lafayette.)  The league's best running backs will be featured in this game and the winner will be favored to host the SBC title game in December.  In the two meetings last year, teams combined for 44 and 49 points.  Don't be surprised if the winner has a similar number.

ULM (2-3, 1-0)(-3') at TEXAS STATE (2-3, 1-0)  THURSDAY 6:30pm ESPNU--Texas State's defense is good enough to give them a chance and their offense is slowly improving.  ULM's Caleb Evans is playing like he did two years ago and Josh Johnson is averaging nearly 120 yards per game on the ground.  That Texas State defense will get a stern test on Thursday.

GEORGIA STATE (3-2, 1-1) (+5') at COASTAL CAROLINA (3-2, 0-1) Saturday, 4:00pm ESPN+--Will the real Georgia State please stand up?  Are they the team that beat Tennessee and rolled up 722 yards of offense against Arkansas State?  Or are they the team that got humiliated up in Michigan and lost to Texas State?  One thing we do know:  Quarterback Dan Ellington is making things happen for the Panthers.  The Georgia State defense will have to deal with C. J. Marable and a solid Chanticleers' offense this week.  The winner of this game takes a big step toward bowl eligibility.
