Five predominantly African-American churches in Crowley have been vandalized, and officials with Acadia Crime Stoppers are hoping someone will give them information that leads to an arrest in the case.

The first church was vandalized back on July 7, and basically someone is throwing things through the glass doors or the stained glass windows of these churches.

This month, four other churches have been vandalized in this same way.

It could be one person, it could be more, but either way the congregants of these churches are hoping that the culprit will be caught.

Can you imagine how these people must feel when someone has disgraced their house of worship? It's America. You don't have to believe what other people believe, but you do have to abide by the laws.

In addition to the way this makes the people that attend these churches feel, there are financial costs associated with making the repairs. Someone needs to be held accountable.

Throwing something through the doors or windows of a church is a sad, cowardly act. No one knows what is truly motivating this person or person, but one thing is for sure, thousands of crimes have been solved over the years through the Acadia Crime Stoppers program.

Hopefully, someone will call in a tip that will help authorities find the person who is doing these unnecessary and ugly crimes.

You don't even have to give your name or other information if you want to help authorities catch the culprit.

There are two ways to anonymously give tips, and they are as follows:

  • You can call the the Acadia Parish Crime Stoppers tipline anonymously at 337-789-TIPS(8477).
  • You can download the P3 app on your phone, and you can anonymously give information that way.

Detectives are waiting to hear from someone who can help them break this case.

You can also get reward money as well.

All of the churches that have been targeted are in the western portion of Crowley.
