As of Sunday afternoon, residents of the town of Iowa were under a boil advisory. The notice was issued by the Mayor's office following a drop in water pressure that was noted throughout the town's water system.

Officials say repairs on the water tower in Iowa and the drop in pressure are the reason the precautionary advisory has been issued. Residents are urged to boil water for at least one full minute before consuming. This would apply to not only drinking water but water for cooking use as well.

There was no specific timetable given for the lifting of the boil advisory. However, according to a report from KPLC TV officials in the town suggest that the boil advisory could still be necessary throughout the day Monday (Dec 10).
