The weekend will start off on the wet side.

According to KATC TV-3, Tropical Depression #17 has formed in the Gulf of Mexico and it could bring a lot of rain to parts of south Louisiana!

As the disturbance approaches landfall, flood WATCHES have been posted. At this time there are NO Tropical Watches or Warnings posted.

While the disturbance moves further northward, a front moving further south should push the disturbance further east of Acadiana. Still, we should be prepared for flash floodwaters.

The good news here is that the system will move through quickly and we should see improved weather conditions for the area by Saturday afternoon, with cooler temps.

If the system does get a name, it'll be Olga.
