Lafayette Burger and Sweets Staple Unexpectedly Closes One Location
Lafayette continues to grow, bringing new restaurants and businesses to the city and surrounding areas. As the city grows out toward Abbeville, Crowley, and Youngsville many Lafayette businesses have opened second locations.

Unfortunately, not all of these additional restaurants perform at the same level as their original locations, and are eventually faced with the tough decision of staying open or closing their doors.
A Lafayette staple that has been serving up delicious burgers and homemade sweets for over a decade was faced with this tough decision this week.
Lafayette Burger and Sweets Staple Unexpectedly Closes One Location
Twin's Burgers and Sweets expanded with a second location at 103 Centre Sarcelle Blvd, Youngsville, LA, in 2015 but appears to have unexpectedly closed.
A screenshot of their Google listing shows that they are 'permanently closed' but as commenters on Facebook point out sometimes these are not accurate.
"Are you sure this is accurate? Google listings can be jacked up sometimes. I haven’t heard this, and they haven’t made any posts stating they are closed." – Megan L.
"Are they closed down or just closed for a little vacation after Mardi Gras? I know Kelley’s in Youngsville for sure is closed for a little vacation after the Mardi Gras rush." – Trina B.
However, based on what people are saying in the 'What Up Acadiana' group, an email was sent out to all employees notifying they that the Youngsville location would not reopen after Mardi Gras.
"They closed, they sent an email to all of the employees saying they will not reopen after Mardi Gras. They gave zero notice for anyone to find a job.– Brittani R.
"Closed. I know some workers. They didn’t get any warning that the owners were closing it." – Chantel F.
In the comments, Mike L. explains that restaurants are starting to avoid giving notice of closures to employees ahead of time because, sadly, "People will steal what is left before doors close."
While we do not have confirmation that this is the case for Twin's in Youngsville, it could have contributed to the sudden closure.
Employees were not expecting the closure, but many other restaurants and bars in the Youngsville area are always looking for people with restaurant experience. Hopefully, the employees who lost their jobs can find a new home at one of the other excellent businesses in the area.
