Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson has announced that two men were caught with drugs and a stolen gun after they were pulled over by the Sheriff's Office Crime Suppression Unit.

Yesterday afternoon at around 3 o'clock, Crime Suppression Unit members were trying to pull over a car with 21-year-old Christopher Dugas and 21-year-old Rahkeem Richardson when both of them were seen throwing things from the car.

Deputies were able to finally stop the car after chasing the men into the Kathy Apartment Complex.

  • Obstruction of justice
  • Illegal carrying of a weapon in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance
  • Illegal possession of stolen property
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Possession of schedule II narcotics
  • Possession of Schedule IV narcotics
  • Possession with intent to distribute Schedule I narcotics

Richardson was charged with the following:

  • Obstruction of Justice
  • Illegal carrying of a weapon in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance
  • Possession of stolen property
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Possession of schedule II narcotics
  • Possession of schedule IV narcotics
  • Possession with intent to distribute schedule I narcotics

Sheriff Gibson had this to say,

"We will continue our efforts to fight the illegal narcotics industry. I am proud of the efforts of our deputies."
