Crowley Man Drowns Saturday Near Kathy Apartments

The Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office does not suspect foul play to be a factor in the drowning death of 30-year-old Trae Darby.

Acadia Parish Sheriff K.P. Gibson said the drowning occurred Saturday morning in a gully near the Kathy Apartment Complex on Kathy Meadows Drive where Darby lived.

Though the area is known for a recent rash of criminal activity, Gibson said the death has been ruled a drowning and foul play is not suspected.

The investigation is ongoing.
