UL's Center for Excellence in Education is offering an allowance of $500 for some Freshmen enrolled in Math classes.

According to a Tweet from the Center for Excellence in Education, students who are enrolled in the listed classes are eligible for a $500 stipend as part of a program. Those to be considered must be a graduate of one of 4 Lafayette high schools: Acadiana, Carencro, Lafayette High, or Northside.

Now I don't know about you, but a "free" $500 would have been a blessing when I was in college.

The stipend is part of the FOrME! Project:

The Freshmen Outreach & Mathematics Enrichment (FOrME!) project is a sub-grant of the LPSS GEAR-UP project. The overarching goal of the project is to be a positive contributor to first-year success in college algebra and contribute to post-secondary readiness and retention in mathematics. - FOrME! Project

The program is set to run through October and November, so get your Freshman registered today.
