Vermilion Deputy Arrested In Juvenile Rape Case

Detectives began investigating a case of sexual abuse on January 24 after a complaint came in about a juvenile.

Agents with the Special Victims Unit of Louisiana State Police arrested 42-year-old Vermilion Parish Sheriff's deputy Bryan Kibodeaux of Abbeville.

Kibodeaux has been charged with the following:

• First degree rape
• Four counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile
• Four counts of sexual battery

SVU detectives were helped out by the LSP Criminal Intelligence Unit, the Vermilion Sheriff's Office and LSP's Technical Support Unit and Homeland Security.

Vermilion Parish Sheriff Mike Couvillon says Kibodeaux has been fired from the Sheriff's Department.

The Special Victims Unit continues to investigate this case along fighting crimes where children have been abused.
