Walk-Ons Holds Day-Long Event To Find Mickey Shunick

One Lafayette restaurant is providing good food while also helping raise money to continue the search for Mickey Shunick.

Walk-Ons Bistreaux & Bar in Lafayette is holding an all-day event Wednesday which will raise funds for the Find Mickey Shunick Now campaign. Restaurant manager Jamie Haydel says the support from the community has so far been impressive.

"The guests are loving it," Haydel says. "There were people lined up at the door before we even opened up this morning."

Haydel says 20 percent of their eligible sales will go toward the search efforts. In order for your meal to be eligible, Haydel says guests must bring a Mickey Shunick flyer with them and present it to their server. You can print out a flyer from www.findmickeynow.com.

But if you don't have access to a computer or a printer, Haydel says not to worry.

"We obviously want [our guests] to have one, so we have some here to give out to our customers," Haydel says, "and you just have to present it to your server at your table, and we'll take care of it from there."

The all-day event will also feature live bands, starting at 6 p.m. and ending at midnight. According to Haydel, the lineup includes Machette, Brandi Cavitt, and The Rayo Bros.
