Some residents of the town of Baldwin will be needing to make changes in their morning routines today. That's because of a planned water service interruption that is scheduled to begin a 7 this morning in parts of the city.

The temporary suspension of service will affect customers who live on Labau, Eighth, Ninth, Tenth, Jolivette, Provost, Lancelin Streets and parts of Martin Luther King. The interruption in service was deemed necessary so that crews can make repairs to a broken water line in town.

City officials did not offer a timetable on how long the repairs would take. Residents should be prepared to be without water service for at least the early part of the day. It is hoped that the repairs can be finished in just a matter of hours.

However, there will likely be a boil advisory posted for the affected areas following the completion of the repairs. This is a standard procedure anytime water service has been interrupted or water pressures have fallen below a certain level. Just to be clear, there has been no advisory posted as of this report.

Should a boild advisory be deemed necessary the water supply will have to be tested. Once the water supply has been verified safe by the Department of Health and Hospitals residents will be allowed to use the water in their homes without the added step of boiling.
