What I Would Teach At A High School [OPINION]
Someone asked me this the other day: If you could teach a class at a high school, what would you teach?
The answer came to me quickly: "Life", I said.
I would teach kids how to check the oil and change a tire. I would teach kids how to cut grass and unclog a drain. I would teach them how to pick the ripe tomatoes. I would teach them that salt isn't seasoning. I would teach them that respect isn't received unless it is either given or earned. I would teach them that french fries and a Wendy's Frosty go good together. I would teach them to try things that scare them. I would teach them that it's better to have 4 quarters than 100 pennies when it comes to friends.
I would teach them to be kind. I would teach them to visit their mother as often as they can. I would teach them to move away from home to experience life (at the minimum) out of state, but press them to live in a different country for a few years before coming home.
I would teach them that days crawl and years fly.
I would teach them that life isn't fair, and it owes them nothing. I would teach them that this is their only chance, their one shot, to live.
If they would learn just one thing from what I mentioned above, it would hope that they learn to be kind.
