Bidding for the Youngsville multipurpose sports complex is expected to happen this fall.

Members of the Youngsville City Council have voted to take bids for the project in October.  The bidding will go out for the entire $6.6 million dollar project, and not three scaled-down models that the board was presented with at their meeting this week.

Voters approved a 1 cent sales tax to pay for part of the project back in 2011.

The council decided that they would go with the full project which will include a multipurpose recreation center, an administrative building and two basketball courts.

The new sports complex will also have baseball fields, soccer fields, a playground and tennis courts.
