One Accused Car Thief Arrested in New Iberia, Two Suspects on the Loose

18-year-old Timothy Daniels was arrested on Thursday afternoon after a shots fired complaint in the area of Spencer Loop turned into a stolen car and armed robbery case.

New Iberia Police spokesman Captain John Babin says officers went to the area twice before finding the stolen vehicle with three suspects inside. Daniels was caught while the other suspects were able to get away on foot. The stolen vehicle was taken out of Picayune, Mississippi, and the occupants had been arrested on armed robbery charges there.

Timothy Daniels was booked in the Iberia Parish Jail on the following charges:

• Aggravated Flight from an Officer
• Resisting Arrest
• Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle
• Unauthorized use of a Motor Vehicle
• Possession of stolen thing valued over $5000.00

More arrests are expected in this ongoing investigation.
