17-year-old Julian Ledezma and 18-year-old Alonso Ledezma II have been arrested after they allegedly pointed an AK 5.56 semi-automatic rifle at several people at an after-hours soccer game on the Beau Chene High School campus on Tuesday.

A student and two other unnamed individuals say one of the male subjects allegedly threatened to shoot the rifle in the parking lot during the school event, grabbing the rifle and pointing it towards several students who were in the parking lot during a verbal altercation. One of the individuals told authorities that one of the subjects in the back seat of truck pointed a black assault rifle in his direction as the vehicle drove away.

Deputies with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office say Julian Ledezma told them when he and Alonso Ledezma went to the soccer game that Alonso’s gun fell out of the back passenger door when Julian opened it. That’s when Julian says he put it back in the truck and they both left the school campus.

Both Alonso Ledezma II and Julian Ledezma were transported to the parish jail and booked and later bonded out.

“Thanks to the quick response by the principal of Beau Chene High School, the alert student, the unnamed coach, the quick response by our Juvenile Detective Division, and Detective Chasity Carriere, another dangerous weapon was taken off the streets of St. Landry Parish,” says St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz. “Additionally, our investigation continues to determine whether the aforementioned individuals arrested are part of any gang activity.”
