Amtrak Passenger Train Collides With Big Rig In Lafayette
An Amtrak passenger train came to a screaching halt moments ago as it collided with a flatbed reailer in Lafayette.
KPEL listeners reported the crash that occurred around 1 p.m. near the SE Evangeline Thruway frontage road across from the Lafayette Regional Airport.
It appears there was minimal damage to the truck pulling the trailer.
Some traffic is being diverted nearby as crews work to clear the debris and investigate the crash.
