20-year-old Kentrelle Jones of Breaux Bridge has been arrested on outstanding warrants in connection with a shooting that happened on October 12th of last year in the 1100 block of George Dupuis Road in Breaux Bridge.

Major Ginny Higgins with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office says Jones was brought in during a traffic stop on Wednesday. During the October incident, he allegedly came from behind a home and fired several shots at someone as he was leaving his vehicle in the driveway. The person was not injured, but the vehicle was damaged.

Jones faces the following charges:

  • Outstanding Warrant For 1 count of Attempted 2nd Degree Murder
  • Outstanding Warrant for 1 count of Criminal Damage To Property
  • LA. R.S.-14:108 Resting an Officer
  • LA. R.S.-14:99 Reckless Operation

Jones has been booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center.
