The City of Carencro will be holding a ceremony on Saturday, November 9 to honoring all veterans.

The ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. at the Carencro Veterans Memorial with an addition tribute to follow called Peacetime Patriotism which will pay special tribute to those who have served from Vietnam through 9/11/01.

The event is free an open to everyone.

Chairman of the Carencro Veterans Memorial Committee, Lynn Guidry says,

"Each year, we try to bring special attention to a particular group of veterans during our event. We've generally focused on major conflicts and wars through history, yet there are many thousands of veterans whose service came during what's referred to as "peacetime" although there was battle service and casualties of U.S. military during these years. We think it's important to note the service of these veterans, as well."

The ceremony will be held at the Carencro Veterans Memorial with right next door to city hall at 210 East Peter Street.

There is more information about the veterans event at http://www.Carencro.org and the Carencro Veterans Memorial Facebook page.
