State Police announce for the rest of this year, drivers stopped in certain parishes can not refuse a breath test.State Police spokesperson Bryan Zeringue says Troop C is one of the six Troop areas that has enacted a no-refusal policy for during other holidays this year. Zeringue says the entire state of Louisiana had enacted the no-refusal policy over the labor day holiday, and state police recorded zero fatalities on roadways during that time. Zeringue says the policy is simply another tool state police can use to help prevent tragedy on the roads. The no-refusal policy will be in place through January 2nd. Zeringue says holiday revelers can still enjoy themselves, just designate a driver. He says if a drive is suspected of impairment and fails an initiial field sobriety test, they will be then asked to take a breath test.
