If you're a movie buff, you're in luck.

The 15th Annual Cinema on the Bayou Film Festival begins tonight in Lafayette. The festival, which will take place at six different venues across Acadiana, features 40 films produced all over the world, including, but not limited to, in Canada, the United Kingdom, Spain, India, and Australia.

The festival kicks off with the world premiere of the film WHEN WE KILL THE CREATORS, starring Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter Shelby Lynne. Cinema on the Bayou's website sums up the movie thusly:

The film tells the story of a singer's improbable journey to reach her dreams, and when she does, the price she has paid.  The film also features Ally Walker and Tony Joe White.  All original songs were written for the film by (writer/director) Cynthia Mort and Shelby Lynne.

Tonight's premiere takes place at 6:30 p.m. at Vermilionville. For more details about tonight's screening and other events taking place during the festival, click here.
