“Clean Up Your Neighborhood” Leads To Arrests For Lafayette Police
An operation started in early July is yielded results for the Lafayette Police Department and citizens in city neighborhoods.
"Clean Up Your Neighborhood," put in place by Deputy Chief Reginald Thomas, focuses on the high drug and high crime neighborhoods in the Hub City. One of those neighborhoods, Lafayette Street, has seen recent homicides.
Narcotics Agents have focused on identifying suspects responsible for the possession, sale or distribution of illegal narcotics.
31 arrests have been made, 6 handguns (2 of which were reported stolen) were recovered, and over $12,000.00 in illegal narcotics was seized.
