Court Won’t Hear Brandon Scott Lavergne’s Appeal
The 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals have turned down Brandon Scott Lavergne's request for a rehearing.
Lavergne pleaded guilty last year to murdering University of Louisiana student Mickey Shunick and Lisa Pate back in 1999.
The court did not give their reasons for the rejection.
Earlier this year, Lavergne requested that a Lafayette judge throw out his guilty pleas to first-degree murder in deaths of Shunick and Pate.
Lavergne pleaded guilty in August 2012 to killing Shunick. The UL Lafayette student disappeared while she was riding her bicycle home from a friends house.
Lavergne says he felt pressure to plead guilty in the two cases.
