I-10 Now OPEN After Crash Involving Excavator Caused Shutdown Near Breaux Bridge (UPDATED)

UPDATE: Master Trooper Brooks David says ALL LANES ARE NOW OPEN.

Louisiana State Police spokesman Master Trooper Brooks David says an excavator struck overhead lines on I-10, causing I-10 East and West between Louisiana Avenue and Breaux Bridge to be completely shut down.

DETOURS

• Eastbound traffic is being rerouted onto Louisiana Ave to La 94 then on to LA 328 in Breaux Bridge before meeting back up with I-10.
• Westbound traffic is being diverted onto LA 328 to LA 94 and then onto Louisiana Ave and back onto I-10 West.

Trooper David says there is no timetable for when that portion of the interstate will reopen.
