Daycare Worker Accused Of Biting Baby

WEST MONROE, La. (AP) — Ouachita Parish deputies say a 20-year-old daycare worker is accused of biting a 5-month-old boy.

The News-Star reports that Alexis Binford of West Monroe was booked Wednesday on one count of cruelty to a juvenile.

An arrest affidavit says the baby's father told police his son was bitten on the cheek on Tuesday.

The report says Binford told deputies she accidentally bit the boy while playing with him — but later said she bit him because she could not make him stop crying, and felt overwhelmed.

The affidavit notes that Binford called West Monroe police in November and said her child had been bitten on the ear, but she did not know who bit the child. It says she was asked about that incident, and denied biting her child.

It was not immediately clear whether Binford had an attorney.
