You obviously were intrigued enough by the headline to click on this story to see what it's all about. I think this is a great topic based on a report from NPR that a friend of mine came across.

In a world full of uncertainty when it comes to Ukraine, gas prices, inflation, and on and on, it's nice to know that you can call the PepToc Hotline. What is that, you wonder? It's a really great project put together by two teachers at Healdsburg, California. When you call the number kindergartners will offer you their joy.

According to the report, teachers Jessica Martin and Ashera Weiss put this together as a project for their kids. Martin is a teacher in the arts program, and while there may not be much funding, she certainly tapped into an unused resource, the happy, joyful souls of our little people. The kindergartners go to Westside Elementary.

I don't care how cynical you are, how worried you are about the future, or how skeptical you are that the world isn't going to pot, hearing the kids on the other side of the phone line is joyous! I did it. I called it. Right after this story was pointed out to me.

One of the words that the author of the web story used is so spot on. The word resilient is a way to describe children that most of us use. Think about how many times your parents or you as the parent have said, "Don't worry kids bounce back." It's true, and we should pay attention to their positive attitude and their resiliency.

You call the hotline, and you pick one of five options that offer a "pick me up". I am not going to outline what each option offers because I want you to go and call this line yourself right now. Save the number in your phone. This is not a cure-all for everything that ails us as a world, but it sure doesn't hurt to hear the sound of children giggling their heads off.

Here's the number 1-707-998-8410.
