Fire in the Fireplace Spreads to Attic of Scott Home

Two people in a home in the 200 block of Paul Boudreaux Road in Scott are safe after a fire in the fireplace spread to the attic area and caused minimal damage to the building.

Scott Fire Chief Chad Sonnier says firefighters were able to extinguish the fire by going on the roof and into the chimney area. None of them were injured.

The fire happened on Saturday around 3 PM.
