Former Congressman Jeff Landry visited 'Mornings With Ken and Bernie' today with comments about the recent government shutdown and the debacle of the launch of the Affordable Care Act.

In regards to the just-ended government shutdown we asked if we would be facing another crisis on January 15th Landry replied,

You assume we do.  It will be another crisis.  The government is running but it's running on borrowed money.  Basically running on our children's futures...The money our children will be earning when they become adults like us and the government will be taxing them to the hilt.

When asked whether he thought President Obama had any concept of basic accounting practices Landry said,

That's because of his background.  If you read his book and you understand who he is, he's never had to be accountable to anyone.  He's never had a real job 'per se' that he's had to budget.  Things have just been given to him.  So he's like a spoiled child that's always been given things and doesn't understand the value of money and the value of hard work.

There has been a lot of discussion about the failure of the Affordable Care Act launch and we asked Landry if Secretary of Health Kathleen Sebelius or someone else would be held accountable.  According to Landry,

The President always deflects criticism.  He's never blamed.  He's never one to take responsibility nor to take the blame.  There will always be a fall guy.

Landry went on to say,

There are some Democratic Senators that are beginning to back a one year delay in the individual-mandate.  That goes to show you how close Cruz and Mike Lee and the Conservative Caucus was in getting them to do what they wanted they were simply asking them to do and that is to delay the one year individual mandate.
