Former Manager Of Evangeline Apartments Arrested On Theft Charges
38-year-old Bryan Jackson of Lafayette, the former manager of Evangeline Apartments in Lafayette, has been arrested on numerous theft, fraud and forgery charges.
“I will bring to justice those who abuse and defraud our hard-working taxpayers,” says Attorney General Jeff Landry, whose office announce their arrest of Jackson. “It is especially egregious for fraudsters to steal our State’s precious resources dedicated to helping Louisiana’s most vulnerable.”
AG Landry said in his announcement that Bryan Jackson's father, Donald Jackson of Rayville, also was arrested as well, for Misappropriation without Violence/Principal to Theft.
Bryan Jackson's charges include:
- Felony Theft (in excess of $5,000)
- Unauthorized Use of a Movable (in excess of $10,000)
- Forgery (3 counts)
- Public Contract Fraud
In his announcement, Landry says the younger Jackson allegedly used his position at Evangeline Apartments to divert funds by forging signatures of others, submitting fraudulent documentations, and obtaining cash payments with no adequate documentation to substantiate the expenditures.
