Jeanerette Mayor Aprill Foulcard says she, along with the Board of Alderman, will be conducting interviews on Monday with the four candidates for the job of Police Chief.

The candidates are as follows in no particular order:

  1. Gloria Lombard is the current interim Police Chief for Jeanerette, and she has served as the Assistant Chief of Police since 2012.  She was the first female patrol officer appointed to the Franklin Police Department 37 years ago.
  2. Jeffrey Matthews is a deputy for the Jeanerette Marshal's Office and has been since 2010.  Matthews was also with the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office from 2005-2010.
  3. Terrance Moore is a Lieutenant for the Franklin Police Department and has been since 2008. Moore worked at the Jeanerette Police Department from 2002-2008.
  4. Robert Champagne is a current reserve police officer for the Baldwin Police Department, and has been serving in that capacity since 2010. He also worked for the Pearl River Police Department between 2008-2010.

The candidates will be interviewed on Monday, and a new Jeanerette Police Chief is likely to be named in the coming weeks.

Former Chief of Police Marvin Grogran resigned the job after being arrested several weeks ago following a raid of Lipstick's Gentleman's Club.

Grogan was charged with three counts of compounding a felony for allegedly witnessing illegal drug and prostitution at the club and doing nothing about it.  he has also been charged with malfeasance in office.
