Franklin Man Arrested After Crash

A two car crash on Highway 90 in Patterson Saturday night lead to a Franklin man's arrest.

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's office reports that a deputy was called out to respond to the crash, when the deputy found an open container of beer inside 30-year-old Ryan Savell's car.

The deputy found Savell at a local hospital where he was being treated for injuries from the crash.  The deputy says he smelled the heavy odor of alcohol on Savell, and blood was taken to determine his blood alcohol concentration.

He was released on a signature bond due to his medical condition, but Savell is facing the following charges:

• Driving while intoxicated
• No drivers license
• Possession of an open alcoholic container in a motor vehicle
