Georgia Man Charged In Grand Coteau Officer Shooting
A Georgia man is behind bars after allegedly shooting a Grand Coteau police officer. It happened yesterday during a traffic stop. Michael Dewayne Lucas of Forsyth, Georgia allegedly shot at Officer Kiara Harris. Harris was hit in the upper arm and taken to the hospital. She has since been released. St. Landry Parish Deputy Chief Eddie Thibodeaux says Lucas was initially pulled for running a red light. Lucas has outstanding warrants. No bond has been set at this time.
