On Tuesday, Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards will follow a big announcement about COVID vaccines by taking it himself.

According to a press release from the Office of the Governor, Edwards will receive his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine along with several other members of the Unified Command Group. That comes after he announces the first mass vaccination site in Baton Rouge on the Pennington Biomedical Research Center's campus as the governor will join Our Lady of the Lake and Pennington to provide the latest update on COVID-19 and the state's response to it.

The news conference is scheduled for 3 p.m.
