This week on "Wingin' It Wednesday," former Congressman Jeff Landry, in for Warren Caudle, and Carol Ross joined "Mornings with Ken and Bernie" to discuss abuse of food stamps in Louisiana as well as Governor Bobby Jindal's recent criticisms of President Obama.

Here's what the panel had to say:

1. Louisiana's social services department says it stripped food stamps from six people who deliberately overspent their monthly benefits when the electronic service was down in October. What are your thoughts on Louisiana's food stamp program?

Jeff Landry started us off:

Absolutely it’s not enough. As usual the government makes everything real complicated, but it’s pretty simple. Federal guidelines require that if the recipient of an EBT card abuses that card, that card is suspended for 12 months. What excuse could a person have to abuse the system? That’s a big problem, not only in Louisiana, but across the country.
The benefits are supposed to help families, children, and our most vulnerable citizens. It’s supposed to give a hand up, not a hand out. Every time it’s abused, you hurt those people who are trying to step up on the next rung of the ladder, and that’s sad.

Carol Ross Concluded:

It’s really a tricky thing. This is symptomatic It’s symptomatic of deeper problems, not only in the food stamp program, but in society of a hold. When people think others are ‘getting over’, getting something for nothing, it fosters lawlessness.
Two things are at work here, the struggling Obama economy, and the other problem is they’ve changed the eligibility requirements. There’s almost no eligibility requirements.

2. Governors have broken into a partisan on-camera feud at the White House after meeting with President Barack Obama. Louisiana Republican Gov. Bobby Jindal said if Obama were serious about growing the economy he would approve the Keystone XL pipeline project and take other action. Your thoughts on Jindal's comments?

Jeff stated:

Good for Bobby. I was a bit shocked, it was a bit off-cuff for Bobby. I think the Governor did a wonderful job. I think the topics the Governor chose were worth discussing. At the end of the day, we want people in America to succeed. We want them to earn as much as they want to earn.
He talked about projects that will pay much more than minimum wage. We’ve been debating this Keystone Pipeline for years, and at the end of the day we know this project is needed in this country.

Carol stated:

Wasn’t it something to see all the liberal media, who are so vile and vicious when they attack Sarah Palin, all-of-a-sudden so offended by the Governor telling the truth.
I was happy to see him lay it out there. Are we happy to settle with this kind of economy?
