Guillory Declares Emergency In Lafayette Ahead Of Storms
Lafayette Mayor-President Josh Guillory signed an emergency declaration ahead of Hurricane Marco which is due to make landfall tomorrow. Less than 72 hours later, Hurricane Laura is also supposed to impact Acadiana. Forecasts show the Lafayette area can expect winds of up to 40 miles per hour as Marco makes its way into the area on Monday. The declaration gives the Mayor-President authorities granted to him under the city-parish charter in times of emergencies.
