Gumbo Cook-Off in Henderson to Raise Money for Local Charity
Heartstrings and Angel wings is a non-profit based in Breaux Bridge that provides clothes for NICU babies as small as 1-3 pounds. They also make bereavement gowns for parents dealing with infant loss. The organization is dependent on donations from the community and they do one fundraiser each year.
The 12th annual gumbo cook-off will be in Henderson on March 21st. More than 20 teams are already signed up for the cook-off that is open to the public. Entry to the event is $10 and gets you all you can eat gumbo and unlimited access to the family area. Kids 12 and under are free.
