Handful Of Opelousas Residents Evacuated Due To Chlorine Leak

According to a KPEL news source, there is a chlorine leak in Opelousas, but thankfully, no one is injured. The leak is not large.

Outside of our source, KATC is reporting that a handful of streets have been evacuated.

In the evacuation list are the following roads:

• Woodland Drive
• Simoneaux Lane all the way to McCarthey Lane
• Candy Street

A whole host of first responders have responded to the situation unfolding at the water plant.
